1. Admission to the postgraduate program

The Department composes its educational program around the four principles outlined below, with the objective of developing human resources that can play leading roles as sophisticated specialists, widely recognized both at home and abroad and contributing tremendously to the dental health care of the future society. The program is based on a vision of and a long-term investment scheme for fostering capable orthodontists who can become leaders in the 21st century:
1) Acquisition of technical knowledge
2) Cultivation of logical attitude through clinical exercises
3) Acquisition of ability to connect the meaning of the peculiarities of disease informed by the patient with the student's accumulated knowledge, what we call "diagnostic skills"
4) Acquisition of treatment skill
The unique characteristics of our postgraduate program are as follows:
First, uniform egalitarianism in education was abolished and new principle of competition has been introduced instead so that priority, in terms of educational investment, can be given to the student who is most efficient.
Second, fairness and strictness is ensured in evaluating the student's scholarly work and achievements.

A student will be ordered to leave our residency program if his/her evaluation of scholarly work and achievements are quite unfavorable, however the chance to build a career will be given to the student who is evaluated as a strongly motivated and self-disciplined person.
