Providing the highest level of dental care

Approx. 1,500 patients visit our orthodontic clinic every month (as of March, 2002). We treat the largest number of patients of all the Japanese national university hospitals that have orthodontic departments attached to faculties of dentistry. We provide friendly and reliable dental service for our patients without long waiting time for treatment. Our dental system is computerized, and our technical orthodontic training programs are substantial and well prepared.

The Department frequently exchanges information on new projects in collaboration with the staff at other faculties within Osaka University Dental Hospital and external staff at the University of Tokyo and the University of Bristol. These projects were financed with the grants-in-aid for developing a high-tech medical/dental care system bestowed by the Ministry of Health and Welfare during the periods between 1998 and 2000.
Open practice policy (Informed consent)

We have an "open practice policy" whereby before commencing orthodontic treatment, we explain the procedure to our patients in detail, and let them know if there are any risks involved. When treatment begins, we always try to provide necessary information according to each treatment phase to get their cooperation and try to answer their questions.

English speaking staff

Our dental clinic has full-time staff who can provide treatment in English.

The "renovated consultation room"

We provide friendly and reliable dental services for our patients with the minimum waiting time. Patient care has improved since the introduction of our new computer system in 1998.

We have also renovated our consulting room in order to make it more comfortable and have shortened patients' waiting time by introducing a full appointment system and more efficient administrative procedures.
