The Department of Orthodontics at Osaka University provides not only dental students with the clinical training but also dentists who graduated from a school of dentistry or a dental college both at home and abroad with advanced technical knowledge and skills. Orthodontics is an extremely specialized branch of learning, and it is mandatory for all oral health dental surgeons or practitioners to study Orthodontics and to complete its appropriate professional training courses. The Department of Orthodontics offers technical training courses aimed at educating dentists who can become gold standard orthodontists both at home and abroad. The courses which are undertaken by the faculty are accredited by qualified orthodontists and mentors of the Japanese Orthodontic Society.

The Department has published a large number of books and software textbooks on clinical orthodontics, which are used as important textbooks by dental students, dentists, nurses and hygienists. The Department dedicates itself to education in order to train competent orthodontic specialists who will be the support and driving force of future dental care.
