When teeth are impacted and buried in the jaw, they can cause damage to the roots of healthy erupted teeth. Unerupted teeth create a gap, which, if left untreated, will cause the adjacent teeth to occupy the space resulting in malocclusion. If this occurs, an orthodontic appliance is attached to the impacted tooth to realign it correctly in the oral cavity. We also treat patients whose teeth, for other reasons, have not erupted.
